What we offer
Cullercoats Community Centre is a friendly, locally run, community-focussed facility on Belle Vue Street (NE30 4QX) just behind Bill’s Fish Bar and the Italian Restaurants overlooking Cullercoats harbour – see Find us.
The Centre is run by Cullercoats Community Association (Registered Charity No. 506945). The original trustees and members raised the money for the centre themselves locally, brick by brick and it opened in 1984.
We are an enthusiastic, volunteer-run organisation and so far our only paid staff is a p/t (3 days a week) Centre Manager. We therefore don’t yet have the resources to keep the centre open and manned for as many hours as we’d like, although we’re working hard to remedy this – watch this space!
We have a large Main Hall and 2 smaller rooms available at very reasonable rates for regular or occasional hire. All three rooms have regular weekly bookings but are available flexibly around these times – please click here for more details about our facilities and here for what's on.
We are determined to provide as wide a range of inclusive, accessible, fun and healthy activities for our users as possible.
We’re aware a lot of people are going through tough times at the moment so we keep our prices down to an affordable level so more people can take part and make new friends.
All profits are ploughed back into the centre to provide more activities, improve the facilities and increase the opening hours. If there’s an activity you’d like to enquire about putting on as a private hirer or see the centre provide, please ring the Centre Manager for a chat on 0191 252 5472 – we’d love to hear from you.
The centre is open and manned around the bookings times advertised in our Whats On Weekly Events page (see links on the left of this page) – please ring first to arrange a visit outside these hours as otherwise we can’t always guarantee there’ll be someone there to talk to you.
